The NBA trade deadline is approaching, and even the bulk of free-agent signings will be tradeable by the middle of December. Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium argues that John Collins, as well as Tobias Harris, Immanuel Quickley, Derrick Rose, and Jah Crowder, are names to keep an eye on.

Atlanta Hawks

The Utah Jazz F/C John Collins receives

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the Hawks “initiated up preliminary trade conversations” with Collins after he struggled in his new position behind Trae Young and Dejounte Murray at the NBA trade.

Moving him to Utah may bring back many rotation components, making Atlanta deeper overall while also bringing shooting to a squad that currently ranks 27th in three-point accuracy (32.0 percent).

NBA Trade for Clarkson (19.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 37.5 percent from three) and Olynyk (12.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 50.0 percent from three) would give the Hawks a fantastic one-two punch off the bench.

Collins is young enough (25) and experienced enough (in his sixth season) to aid both a rebuilding and playoff-caliber club for a Jazz team off to a great 12-7 start.

Boston Celtics

The 13-4 Celtics don’t have many flaws, but adding a seasoned big man who can spread the floor and play power forward and center would be beneficial at the NBA trade.

Over the last three seasons, Muscala has hit 38.9 percent of his three-point attempts and has a swing rating of plus-11.3. Boston would not even have to send any compensation back since Muscala’s $3.5 million deal could be incorporated into the Celtics’ $6.9 million or $5.8 million trade exceptions.

With this transaction, OKC acquires another draft choice and establishes a new trade exception. Please keep in mind that the trade cannot be executed before December 15.

Brooklyn Nets

While Irving has returned to the Nets, history indicates that it will only be a matter of time until something else pulls him away from the club for the NBA Trade. Brooklyn would be prudent to break all connections and see if clubs like the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers are interested in the talented but volatile point guard.

Lowry, 36, is beyond his peak but still a competent floor general, appearing in all 18 games and averaging 14.3 points and 6.1 assists. Strus has developed into a reliable starter for the Heat, averaging 15.3 points per game and shooting 35.3 percent from three.

Both would almost certainly be starters in Brooklyn, providing more playmaking and shooting alongside Kevin Durant. Miami, which is 7-11, may reclaim first place in the East with a core of Irving, Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Tyler Herro.
